Trade Experience / Order Entry System
Designing a complete institutional trading experience from the ground up — across tickets, confirmations, and integrated trade actions.

Challenge
Trading tools didn't exist in a functional state. Early concepts were overcomplicated, inconsistent, and not aligned with modern UX patterns. The interface lacked hierarchy, consistency, and accessibility. Visual styles were fragmented, layouts were dense, and patterns varied across surfaces. The challenge was to design a complete trading experience that users could trust, while fitting into a constrained, modular system and aligning multiple teams.
Approach
Defined the structure, flows, and interaction patterns across all trade surfaces, including tickets, confirmations, and supporting modules. Worked across teams and systems to ensure the experience felt native within QSWeb, despite technical constraints like iframe integration and Golden Layout.
Outcome
Delivered a complete set of trade tools, including tickets, modules, and contextual actions integrated into QSWeb. The system was used to support institutional requirements and helped secure new bank clients, including BMO and Scotia. Established a scalable design system and interaction model that continues to be reused across products and platforms.
